Like most R/C Clubs, the Wine Country Flyers host some excellent local events.  They are a very active Club and offer a little something for everyone.  They've got Pylon Racing, Float Flies, Scale events, Swap Meets, monthly club meetings and more.  Two events they host, Learn to Fly Day and their annual Opening Day, I've never been too before.  I decided to change that and attended their 2013 Opening Day.  What a treat!

Turns out, Opening Day is a, no pressure, fun day of flying r/c airplanes, helicopters, and just hanging out with the other WCF Club members.  Catching up with friends and talking airplanes, or heli's, is a big part of this event. There was plenty of great flying, new planes to see, etc ...

The day started off with an airplane towing the WCF banner.  There were plenty of different airplanes and helicopters flown.  A few demo pylon races.  Aerobatic Heli routines.  There was even paintball target practice using airplanes!  There was plenty to see, but the main theme of this event is social, welcoming in the new flying season with friends.

Check out the photos, as I'm sure they are worth a thousand words each!  For more info on the Wine Country Flyers, check out their website:  www.wcflyers.com
