Wine Country Flyers, 2014 Open House:

A new tradition has been started by the Wine Country Flyers Club, instead of an Opening Day ceremony, it's now an Open House event.  The old marked the start of the flying season, the new welcomes everyone to the flying field.

With warm temps, but light winds, it was a beautiful day for an rc flying event.  There was much to see, so many great rc planes on display and in the air.  There was a wide variety, from quad copters, to WWI, WWII, ducted fan jets, large scale aerobatic, and more ...  A real treat.

The highlight of the day, for many, was the paintball action.  As a fund raiser, the club let participants take their best shot at an rc plane with a paintball gun.  Fun stuff, with near misses, full contact, and some planes hitting the deck! (not all because of paintballs)

The volunteers who made this happen were many and the club gets a big atta boy for the event!  Richard Skaff did a great job as event director.  Glenn with the BBQ.  Adam with the paintballs.  Wylie with keeping all things safe.  There were many more helpers, I'm sure!

Nathan, Oliver and I enjoyed our morning with the WC Flyers.  The boys really liked shooting the paintball guns.  I enjoyed the comradery and taking some photos.  If you're looking for a great group to fly with, check out the club at:  www.wcflyers.com
