On the 2nd Sunday, of nearly every month, there’s a dedicated group of Scale Rock Crawlers who host a  gathering at Flat Rock in Santa Rosa.  Either Comp style or GTG (competition or Get-Together), these events have grown and really helped our local rc crawler community.

I’ve been lucky to stop by the last two events (May and June. 2015) and was pleasantly surprised by the turnout!  30 to 40 rigs and tons of people (family and friends) all over Flat Rock Park.  The fun, relaxed atmosphere was really nice for an event this size.  It’s about hanging out, running crawlers, checking out rigs and enjoying the camaraderie of other enthusiasts.

Just like their drivers, Scale Crawlers come in all shapes and sizes.  Mostly dominated by 2.2 Wraith chassis, or 1.9 SCX-10 chassis, the customizing that goes into these rc’s is super cool.  Anywhere from Bought-Not-Built, to Build-Not-Bought and everything in between!

Take a look at the photos, and you’ll get a good sense of the vehicles, drivers and what goes on at the events.  Everyone is welcome to attend, either as a spectator or a driver.  Make it a point to mark the 2nd Sunday on your calendar and attend one soon!

JPH approved!  (scaler joke)
