WCF Larry Frank Scale Fly-In Report, Sept. 29th, 2012:
The Wine Country Flyers Club really tries to have something for everyone in their event line up. This one was a "Scale" Fly-in, featuring a nice mix of warbirds and civilian aircraft, built with scale realism in mind. I was not flying in this event, but showed up as a spectator and camera guy ... (please read side note below)
Because I came early and also left early, I did not get to see many of the planes fly and more showed up after I left. But, it was great to see the hard work and craftsmanship that some builders put into their airplanes. Some stand out where Wylie's paint job on Germone's big P-51, Will's giant Beast bi-plane, Merl's nice looking Cessna, and Adam's fleet of airplanes ....
We are very lucky to have a great r/c plane club which hosts such a variety of events in our area. Thank you WCF!
Side Note: It's really important to support our local clubs, any kind of rc clubs, by attending their events. This could be as a participant, or as a spectator. Also, spread the word! A lot of you are on forums, or send e-mails, or talk it up at other club events ... Spread the word about any r/c events coming up in our area. JPH tries to keep the calendar on our website up to date with everything that's going on locally, keep an eye on it and head out to enjoy the rc events Sonoma county has to offer!
